Cartridge Construction

Six-Layer Integrated Filter Cartridge

The cartridge combines a rigid perforated ABS structure with two high-density filter-cotton layers, activated carbon and cation-exchange resin. Six layers describe the physical cartridge structure; they are not six separate chemical filtration mechanisms.

Replacement & Care

How to Replace a Cat Water Fountain Filter Safely

Disconnect power first, identify the correct cartridge, remove the used filter without opening it, clean the filter seat, prepare and reinstall the replacement, then check water flow after reassembly.

Disconnect power
Disconnect the fountain before removing parts. Handle connectors and powered bases with dry hands.

Open the correct model
Lid and filter-holder access varies by platform, so follow the model-specific instructions.

Remove the used cartridge
Lift the cartridge from its holder without cutting or opening the sealed ABS housing.
04
Clean the filter seat
Remove hair and debris from the holder and surrounding water path. Keep electronic base parts dry.
05
Prepare the replacement
Rinse the cartridge with clean water. If the model instructions specify additional preparation, follow them.
06
Install the correct format
Seat the cartridge fully. Do not force a crescent filter into a rectangular holder or vice versa.
07
Reassemble and check flow
Refill and reassemble the fountain, restore power and confirm that water circulates normally.

Between Replacements

How to Clean the Filter Cartridge Safely

Visible hair and debris can be rinsed from the rigid cartridge, and the exterior ABS screen can be gently brushed where needed. Cleaning the outside may help maintain flow, but it does not reset the service life of the activated carbon or cation-exchange resin inside.

1Disconnect power and remove the cartridge.
2Rinse visible debris away with clean water.
3Use a soft brush gently on the rigid outer screen if needed.
4Rinse away loosened hair and debris.
5Inspect for damage, severe clogging or reduced flow before reinstalling.

Care Guidance

Can You Wash and Reuse the Filter?

You can rinse or gently brush visible debris from the rigid outer cartridge between replacements, but cleaning does not renew the activated carbon or cation-exchange resin inside. Use cleaning between replacements, not as a permanent substitute for replacement.

What If Water Flow Drops After a Filter Change?

Start with fit and seating before assuming the new filter is defective.

Water bypasses the filter	Check holder fit and confirm that the correct cartridge format is installed.

Cartridge is damaged	Replace it rather than forcing it back into the holder.
Flow stays weak after the filter check	Inspect and clean the pump according to the fountain manual.

State the compatible platform or model, filter type, quantity and care guidance on the pack.

Replacement demand does not necessarily follow the timing of the next fountain order.

Confirm other service parts
Check pump and accessory availability for the selected model rather than assuming every component is supplied separately.

For private-label projects, we prefer to record the filter format, pack size and compatibility reference with the approved fountain configuration. This keeps later replacement orders tied to the model rather than to an old product photo.
